NORFOLK – Ronnie Kay Hyatt Sr., 58, died Nov. 20, 2008, in Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born Aug. 11, 1950, in Dillon, S.C., to Reba D. Hyatt and the late Luther M. Hyatt and was also predeceased by a brother, Bobby Hyatt. Ronnie grew up in Norfolk and lived here all of his adult life. He was known by the construction industry as a hard worker and an asset of Hampton Roads development. He was very proud of his son, Ronnie K. Hyatt Jr., a combination inspector for the City of Chesapeake .
He is survived by his mother, Reba D. Hyatt of Harrison, Ark.; his son, Ronnie Kay Hyatt Jr. and daughter-in-law Christine Hyatt; four grandchildren, Joseph, Haley, Ronnie III and Ashton; three sisters, Mary Giles of White Oak, Pa., Patricia Duggan of Duncanville, Texas, and Judy Shady of Princeton, Iowa; a brother, David Hyatt of Norfolk; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Hyatt of Greenville, S.C.
His companion, Yvonne Agreste, was by his side throughout his sickness. He had three stepchildren, Cheryl, Gina and Tony. The family has been grateful for the love and support she gave throughout their 16 years together
